MANHATTAN, Kan. The K-State women’s tennis team returns home this Wednesday (April 8) for a midweek doubleheader against Chicago State at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium. The opener is set for 10 a.m., with the second match scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
Holding a 5–12 overall record and a 2–9 mark in the Big 12, K-State will meet Chicago State (1–20, 1–4 NEC) for the first time in the program’s history.

In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released Tuesday, the Wildcats’ sister tandem junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav and freshman Martaa Chogsomjav earned the No. 89 spot in the national doubles poll.
K-State enters the doubleheader after a tough Big 12 road swing last weekend. The Wildcats faced two ranked opponents UCF at No. 19 on Friday (April 3) and Houston at No. 41 on Sunday (April 5) dropping both matches by 4–1 scores.

Despite the team setbacks, Maralgoo secured her first singles win in two weeks on the No. 1 court, defeating Houston’s Elizaveta Morozova in straight sets, 6–3, 6–2. Freshman Diana Smolinska also picked up a victory during the road trip, topping UCF’s Vladislava Andreevskaya at the No. 4 position after her opponent retired while trailing 5–7, 3–2.
Following Wednesday’s home doubleheader, the Wildcats will close out their Big 12 slate at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium with two more matches: Iowa State on April 10 and No. 39 Kansas on April 12.
