The Michigan Wolverines secured their spot in the 2026 National Championship Game on Saturday night with a commanding Final Four victory over the Arizona Wildcats, rolling past their Big 12 opponents 91–72.
Junior point guard Elliot Cadeau played a pivotal role on both ends of the floor, finishing with 13 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and four steals in 33 minutes as Michigan cruised to the win.
With the NIT also being held in Indianapolis this year, Cadeau told reporters after the game that he plans to attend Sunday’s title matchup between Auburn and Tulsa to cheer on Auburn guard — and lifelong friend — Tahaad Pettiford.
“I’m not sure what time it starts, but if it’s not too late, I’m definitely going,” Cadeau said. “He made the Final Four last year and I showed up for him then. It’s just a brotherhood.”
The two grew up together in New Jersey and spent years as AAU teammates before going their separate ways for college. Pettiford has played the last two seasons with the Tigers, while Cadeau began his career at North Carolina before transferring to Michigan last offseason.
