Sebastian Williams-Adams was a major factor in Auburn’s NIT championship win over Tulsa, posting 13 points, three rebounds, and two steals as the Tigers rallied late to secure a 92–86 overtime victory.

He’s now set to play a key role for Steven Pearl in his second year leading the program, with Williams-Adams announcing Friday that he’ll return for his sophomore season.

The Houston native broke Auburn’s freshman record with 47 steals and logged 1,039 minutes the third-most ever by a true freshman at the school. A standout defender capable of guarding all five positions, Williams-Adams recorded 10 double-digit scoring games and twice hit a career-high 15 points, including 13 in the NIT title game.

A former 4-star recruit from St. John’s in Houston, ranked as the No. 12 power forward in the 2025 class, he appeared in all 38 games this season, averaging 7.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 27.3 minutes.

A big boost for Auburn
Williams-Adams matched his season-high of 15 points in the NIT second-round win over Seattle, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the field equaling the 15 he scored in his college debut against Bethune-Cookman.

He now returns alongside Kevin Overton and Simon Walker, while fellow sophomores Filip Jovic and Kaden Magwood have entered the transfer portal.

Auburn is still awaiting decisions from players like Tahaad Pettiford and Elyjah Freeman especially Pettiford, who finished his sophomore year as the team’s second-leading scorer at 15.4 points per game.
