MANHATTAN, Kansas Kansas State women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie has secured another international addition for the 2026–27 season, bringing in French guard Tèa Clèante.
Mittie praised the newcomer as a versatile and energetic guard capable of scoring, creating opportunities for teammates, and making a defensive impact with her quickness and intensity.

Clèante, who will join the Wildcats as a sophomore, arrives after a season at Penn State where she appeared in 28 games, starting 24. She totaled 244 points (8.7 per game) while shooting 40.6% from the field and 30.2% from three-point range. She reached double figures in scoring 10 times, including two 20-point performances, highlighted by a career-high 23 points against Saint Joseph’s on November 16.
Hailing from Dunkerque, France, she recorded at least two made three-pointers in nine games, including a career-best five against Saint Joseph’s. She also contributed as a playmaker with 80 assists (2.9 per game), with a season-high eight assists against VCU on December 20.

Prior to her time at Penn State, Clèante represented France at the international level beginning with the U17 team. She was part of two gold medal-winning squads at the 2024 European Championships. During the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket tournament, she averaged 13.3 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game. In the 2023 FIBA Women’s European Championship, she posted averages of 10.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds across seven games.
The Wildcats’ 2026–27 roster will feature a diverse international mix, including players from the United States, Belgium, France, Slovenia, and Spain.

Kansas State wrapped up its 2025–26 campaign with a 19–18 record, marking its fifth consecutive postseason appearance and 10th in the last 12 seasons. Seven returning players are set to be part of the upcoming roster.
