Kentucky Basketball is set to bring in a familiar face this week, as USC transfer Gabe Dynes a Bluegrass native will be on campus in Lexington on Wednesday, per On3’s Joe Tipton. The Louisville Cardinals are scheduled to host him the following day.
NC State and Georgia Bulldogs are also in the mix.
Dynes, a 7-foot-5, 214-pound alum of Simon Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky, appeared in 30 games (with six starts) this past season for the Trojans. He posted averages of 2.9 points (on 78.8% shooting, though just 35.3% from the line), 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 block in 11.9 minutes per game.
His standout outing came in an 87–67 win over Illinois State, where he delivered 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting, five rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and a steal across 32 minutes. Before arriving at USC, he spent two seasons with Youngstown State.

With one year of eligibility left (unless he opts to redshirt), Dynes profiles as an intriguing depth option a potential quality backup for a Kentucky frontcourt that currently features only Malachi Moreno and Reece Potter as true centers.
