The Kentucky Wildcats have already secured two backcourt starters in Alex Wilkins and Zoom Diallo, but they still need to add several more pieces to build sufficient depth.

A new transfer portal name has emerged on their radar: Washington State point guard Jerone Morton. According to Travis Branham of 247 Sports, Morton is scheduled for a visit to Lexington on Friday.

A native of Lexington who attended George Rogers Clark High School, Morton was an unranked recruit in the class of 2023 before signing with Morehead State. After spending two seasons there, the 6’4″, 180-pound guard transferred to Washington State.

This past season, he put up 7.8 points on 43.8% shooting (38.7% from three-point range), along with 2.6 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 25 minutes per contest. In two matchups against Gonzaga, he totaled 31 points on 10-of-18 shooting (5-of-9 from deep), plus six assists against just two turnovers.
