Antwoine Higgins Jr. has committed to play college football at the University of Kentucky. The linebacker, part of the Class of 2027, chose the Wildcats on Wednesday over scholarship offers from Purdue, Indiana, and Louisville securing Kentucky’s 11th verbal pledge for the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Hailing from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, Higgins is a 4-star prospect standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 223 pounds. He made his decision just days before a scheduled official visit to Indiana. Recruiting analysts view him as a natural pass rusher, and 247Sports’ Director of Scouting Andrew Ivens has praised him as a strong tackler who moves with “little wasted motion.”
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Higgins is rated the No. 524 overall recruit in the 2026 class, the No. 42 linebacker nationally, and the No. 18 prospect from Ohio. Although his final choices came down to Indiana, Louisville, and Purdue, he also held offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, and Oregon.
Higgins becomes Kentucky’s 11th commitment for the 2027 cycle and the second linebacker to join the Wildcats’ class under Will Stein, alongside 3-star LB Ty Ashley. He is also the fourth-highest ranked commit in Kentucky’s class so far, trailing 4-star QB Jake Nawrot, 3-star safety Tristin Hughes, and 3-star defensive lineman Elijah Brown.
