The Philadelphia Phillies’ season is spiraling further downward, as their losing stretch has now reached ten straight games. Every part of the team has underperformed whether it’s the lineup failing to produce enough runs or the pitching staff giving games away and nothing seems to be working in their favor.

As reported by MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, the Phillies are just one loss away from matching the franchise’s longest losing streak since the 1990s, set from September 4–14, 1999, when they dropped 11 in a row. This marks only the fifth time since 1972 that Philadelphia has endured a losing streak of ten or more games.
With frustration building, the clubhouse is largely speechless about how to turn things around.

Bryce Harper summed up the situation bluntly, saying the Phillies simply need to win a game.
“It’s not great,” the first baseman said after the game. “Obviously, not where we want to be. I’ve said it multiple times it’s like beating a dead horse, man. We could all say the same thing every single day. Nobody wants to hear it. So we just have to win. Plain and simple. We understand we lost tonight. We understand we had a great day yesterday. All that stuff, right? None of it matters until you win a game. So we just have to keep fighting and come in tomorrow and start fresh.”
